
William "Chris" Lucius
Co-Founder & Co-Managing Attorney
William “Chris” Lucius is a founding partner of Ivanovic & Lucius, P.C., where his legal practice focuses on aviation-related matters, including regulatory compliance, pilot representation, and airspace integration issues. He brings over three decades of experience in commercial aviation to his legal work, offering clients informed guidance on legal issues affecting both traditional and emerging flight operations.
Since 2014, Mr. Lucius has been actively engaged in addressing the integration of drones and vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft into the National Airspace System (NAS). He has participated in multiple national-level initiatives, including the FAA’s Aviation Rulemaking Committee (ARC) on drone operations over people and the Unmanned Aircraft Safety Team (UAST). He previously represented the Air Safety Organization of the Air Line Pilots Association for a period of five years.

He holds an FAA Airline Transport Pilot certificate and has accumulated more than 16,000 flight hours on a range of aircraft, including the Airbus A319/A320 and Boeing 737, 747, 757, 767, 777, and 787. He currently serves as a Captain on the Boeing 777 for United Airlines, flying international routes out of San Francisco.
Mr. Lucius also represents pilots and flight professionals in regulatory and administrative matters, including actions involving the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). His approach to legal representation reflects a deep understanding of both aviation operations and the regulatory framework governing them.

Mirko Ivanovic
Co- Founder & Managing Attorney
Mirko Ivanovic is the Co‑Founder and Managing Attorney of Ivanovic & Lucius, P.C., a California professional law corporation. His legal practice focuses on corporate law and compliance, estate planning, elder abuse, family law, and personal injury. Mr. Ivanovic leads the firm through strategic and operational direction while maintaining an active caseload serving individuals, families, and businesses across California.
Mr. Ivanovic brings a multidisciplinary background to his legal practice, combining over two decades of law enforcement service with more than two decades of executive experience in both public and private-sector organizations. He has held senior management positions within several corporations, including a New York–based company with assets exceeding $1.8 billion, and has contributed to nonprofit governance through board service supporting charitable initiatives.
As a sworn law enforcement officer, Mr. Ivanovic has served in command, supervisory, and investigative roles across multiple bureaus and divisions, including financial crimes, cybercrime, elder exploitation, and complex fraud investigations. He has worked in joint task force environments with the U.S. Secret Service Electronic Crimes Task Force and the FBI Financial Crimes Task Force, and has held the rank of Lieutenant with one of the nation’s largest sheriff’s offices, overseeing both field operations and strategic command functions.
Mr. Ivanovic also provides instruction and training to law enforcement professionals across the country, with a focus on courtroom testimony, terrorism preparedness, emergency management, patrol operations, and investigative procedures. He has served as a certified law enforcement instructor for over fifteen years, teaching courses in both general policing and homeland security–related disciplines.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Forensic Psychology, summa cum laude, from Kaplan University (now Purdue University Global) and his Juris Doctor with honors from Concord Law School (now Purdue Global Law School). He is admitted to state and federal practice in the State of California.
Mr. Ivanovic is fluent in English, Croatian, Serbian, and Spanish, and conversational in German.
