William (Chris) Lucius

          Captain William “Chris” Lucius has been involved in the integration of Drones and emerging VTOL aircraft in the National Airspace System (NAS) in both the FAA regulatory and practical integration issues since 2014.  His unique skill set is based on his 32 years of violation and accident-free Aviation career and his role as Partner at Ivanovic & Lucius P.C. focusing on Aviation issues.
 

          He is a licensed practicing attorney in the state of California and founding Partner of Ivanovic & Lucius P.C.  In his practice, he has focused on the safe integration of drones into the NAS and legal issues that affect Pilots including manned and unmanned aviation.  He is also involved in the representation of pilots in actions with the FAA.  He is a member of the Lawyer Pilots Bar Association (LPBA) and International Air Transportation Safety Bar Association (IATSBA).
 

          Captain Lucius represented the Air Safety Organization of the Air Line Pilots Association for 5 years.  He was part of the initial UAST (Unmanned Aircraft Safety Team),  worked on the FAA’s ARC (Aviation Rulemaking Committee) for flight of Drones over people, and presented and/or was part of Expert panels at multiple organizations such as AAAE (American Association of Airport Executives), UL (Underwriters Laboratories), AUVSI (Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International), FSI (Flight Safety International), SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) among others. 
 

          Chris has over 16,000 hours collectively in the Airbus A319/20 and Boeing 737, 747-400, 757, 767, 777, and 787 aircraft.  Currently, he also serves as a Captain on the Boeing 777 for United Airlines flying to multiple global destinations from San Francisco.  Drones, VTOL (Vertical Takeoff and Landing) Aircraft, and UTM (Unmanned Traffic Management) are his expertise areas accompanied with 35 years of experience in Aviation.

Mirko Ivanovic
Managing Attorney

          Mirko Ivanovic is the Managing Partner at Ivanovic & Lucius, P.C, an attorney with extensive corporate experience, and has served as a law enforcement professional for more that fifteen years.  His practice is focused on corporate consulting, estate planning, elder abuse, family law, finance, general counsel services, immigration, and personal injury law.  

 

          Prior to becoming an attorney, Mirko served as a corporate executive on both public and private entities and has always played a key role in the growth and development of each entity he  lead.  He served as a top-level manager for a $1.8 Billion corporation and has served as executive for organizations within the consulting, finance and marketing sectors.  Mirko also served on the board of directors for a non-profit entity and assisted several nationwide charities by fundraising and participating on decision making panels.    

 

          As a law enforcement professional and supervisor, Mirko handled  specialized, high-level and covert investigations surrounding financial and cybercrimes, elder exploitation, fraud and many other investigative areas.  Mirko served with the U.S. Secret Service Miami Electronic Crimes Task Force and worked in conjunction with the FBI Financial Crimes Task Force.  Mirko still assists law enforcement by providing  specialized training on various topics.  Mirko has authored several publications and is an accomplished author.  He still teaches sworn and civilian law enforcement personnel how to prepare for court testimony.  He has been a lead instructor for general topics, courses surrounding weapons of mass destruction, and has been a certified instructor for more than 10 years. 

 

          Mirko held several professional licenses over the years and is a summa cum laude graduate of Kaplan University.  He holds a Juris Doctorate in Law from Concord Law School at Purdue University Global where he graduated with honors and academic accolades. Mirko is currently admitted to practice law within the state of California and is working toward being admitted to several other state bars.
